Your little SN is VERY similar to mine minus the row boat type seating. Take a look at my resto thread and see what your current boat could become.

I have read your entire thread. Love the project and boat kudos on a excellent resto! If mine didnt have the bench seating I would do exactly what you did. As it is, it would prob be easier to sell mine and get something newer with decking thats more to my liking and not cost that much more than a conversion.

Looks like the white add expired but I e-mailed him to go take a look. Hope he gets back to me.

Definitely way more work and it may cost you only around 1200 - 1500 to build it into what you need but your heart seems to be set on having the Nitro glass style boat. When it comes to boats you should always get the type of boat that makes you not want for something else. If you do then you end up with what's called MBS multiple boat syndrome. When afflicted by MBS your dog will run off, your loved ones will wonder what happened to the clean cut fun loving guy you used to be and your home will be surrounded by boat junk.

I hope the white boat is what your looking for, let us know.

Really sounds like you found the boat you want. It has the features, the size/style and sounds like the price tag as well. If it is in an acceptable condition I say go for it.

Haha,
Haha! They have seen my OCD before, with cars, sleds, guns, fishing, hunting, bikes, etc. It seems when I get into something I dive all the way in. As long as my dog doesnt run away Im good.
A Nitro style boat has been on the wish list forever, but I would not be totally opposed to a Tracker if I really dont find a great deal on a glass boat. Lets see what happens with the white one. Never know until I actually see it, may even be sold by the time I can go see it.

Right now that's the plan, hope it works out. May be a pc of junk.

If it follows you home you'll have to post up some pictures and you still have time to get'r wet before that water gets hard.

Re: Looking at a newer fishing boat. What do you guys think.

Well I have a new fishin boat! I ended up buying the white Nitro. It might not be the fastest boat but it is in near perfect shape, all the seats are in great shape, carpet in really nice and clean, no rips, stains or loose areas, floors are solid all over and not one soft spot, all the gauges work, paint/gel coat is in great shape with no stress cracks anywhere, but there are a couple tiny chips on the very bottom that are no big deal. Two minutes of touch ups and it will be golden. Transom is as solid as can be, and the motor looks brand new under the cowl and starts right up. Really I couldnt find anything really wrong with it so I had to take her home.

I did call the second one I posted but that boat is 8hrs away and not 2-3 like I had thought and its a 1988. I did like the engine on that one better but thats about it. I also spoke to just about everyone with bass boats in the area and for the price nothing was close to the one I bought. All in all Im very happy with my end choice and should serve me well. By the time I got home with it, it was to late to go out or get any new pics, but we did party test it in the drive way and had some fun! Lol.
Heres the pics from the listing for now.

Congrats AC, very sharp. Nothing like a tall cush chair up on a deck for bass viewing and catching. It's like pulling up a dock to the best fish hole and setting out a LZ Boy. Enjoy.

Thanks!
It has two folding seats and 2 bike seats. Bike seats will be better for casting and the folders will be great for cruising or bobber fishing. Also has a 55lb trust Minn Kota trolling motor with autopilot that isnt pictured. Radio also works nice but is a tape deck. Can you still buy tapes? lol.

Very nice AC I think you did well. That rig should fit very nicely on the river and Fox Chain. Will also fit well up here on Delavan, Geneva or Silver Lake should you decide to come over the border. Just stay off Twin Lakes, those are MY fish so leave them alone!

Thanks,
Ended up paying 4500.00 for everything. So not too bad.
My buddy is trying to get to Delavan Nov 7th-10th to do some fishing, but I mostly would bring it all the way to Vilas Co. for fishing trips. Never fished Twin Lakes but used to race snowmobiles up there. Might have to check out the fishing.......... :)

Re: Looking at a newer fishing boat. What do you guys think.

I grew up on the Fox in Johnsburg and have a daughter living by the river a couple miles from Burtons Bridge. Haven't been through the locks at McHenry in 30 years. Also lived below the dam in Algonquin by Carpentersville but never got on the river down there.

That is a very pretty boat and I think you got it for a very good price. Now you'll have to see if you can get it wet, weather doesn't look real promising this weekend. But then there is no Bears game Sunday.

Re: Looking at a newer fishing boat. What do you guys think.

Im in Fox River Grove a few blocks from the river. Pretty much right in the middle between the Algonquin Dam and the McHenry Dam. Still trying to pattern the fish so its been a little tough. I am catching a little bit of everything though. I have heard below the Algonquin Dam is very good for smallies but have never fished it either. Speaking of the locks it looks like they maybe putting a new bigger one in soon to replace the WWII area lock and for bigger boats to get through. All the fishermen below the Dam are worried it will destroy the island and really hurt the fishing. I hope they build a sea wall around it so it doesnt wash away. Havent had much luck on the chain except in small channels catching bass, gills, and perch, but I have been fishing for Muskie mostly on the lakes. I know they are in there somewhere.

If its not pouring Ill try and get the boat on the water after work. A little rain wont kill me...well unless I get zapped by lightening.

Congrats man. I always like to know the story. Was that a replacement motor that previous owner put on her? Was she garage kept? Etc etc. The boat really looks clean and I like that it isn't the glitter look, I like the white gel. There are nice boats out there for reasonable prices if people just take there time to look and don't get in a hurry. I've always said, the right boat will find you if given the chance. Enjoy!!

I see the Cl posting has expired - did you get the boat, or did someone buy it out from under you?

[That's odd - posted this before your purchase posts - didn't come up until later]
