Running a new cable isn't a biggy. Just push it from the drive side up through the hose inside the boat. Just make the hose as straight as possible to make it easier.

Shimming and rolling torque is a different story. A good Volvo shop, an hour or 2 at most and they can replace the seal, the washer the seal rides on and reshim, set rolling torque and do pattern checks on the double bearing box and gears.

Thanks mang, will read the link. I took a quick look at the parts view and noticed the u-joint is over $500.00. Do they make replacement u-joints or do I have to go that way. If so, I'll probably clean them up and roll with what I got. I would rather pay for a whole rebuild then get nickel and dimed on things of that price range. As far as the other deal, yea, if it is a couple hours labor I have no problem paying that for something critical. I do not have the time to learn it at the moment...

GM does the same thing with some of there parts which aggravates the crud out of me. I'll take a look at the link. Thanks!
