ZZ3/4 cam specs:

PN 10185071

Duration @ 0.050" int 208* exh 221*
Lift with 1.5 rockers int .474" exh .510"
Lobe Centerlines 112*

Sounds OK to me, but with 400 ft./lbs. of torque, he is gonna want a Bravo behind it.

But that should definately move that deck boat :D:D

Ditto the headwork, careful picking a cam, roller rockers.

Edelbrock makes an intake for the 4.3, call them and ask if it's available in the 'marine coating'.

If you'd real serious about a little more power add a freshwater cooling kit and aluminum heads.

A centrifugal blower such as the S-10 kits could be used without too much hassle, just $$$$, Only consider one with a heat exchanger

If you're REALLY serious

D. ALL THE ABOVE

Re: Looking for a little more power

Im thinking hard here, its winter time and I would like to do something before good weather is back. I want a easy task, dont want to really pull motor, I would love the blower idea if it wouldnt hurt my existing motor. Anyone have a blower links, I want to buy the right stuff. I was just giving a S-10 blower idea because I found that the made one for a truck. What ever I get will be Marine rated. Thanks so far for all the ideas.

Not lookingforsomething for nothing, I would just rather stick a blower on and be done with it, than pulling motor and installing a V8.

When installing Any kind of Blower,....
The motor needs to be Set Up properly for the Extra Boost......

Your motor is Not Set Up Properly........

Going to a Blower,.... or Nitrous on a Stock motor,...... Will result in a Pile of Broken Parts..........

I admit I haven't read All 44 posts,.....
But this Must have been mentioned Somewhere above.......

Im leaning to the V8, I have found 1 online.... Do you recommend a sponsor from here that sells complete engines, I need everything that I cant use from my V6.

I think that is a much better choice than a blown 4.3, and you should be fine using an alpha drive with 1.5(1.47) gear ratio.

Re: Looking for a little more power

I just threw away the new mailer that came from procharger, among their applications they list 'Marine' kits.

I had great sucsess with blowers on factory camshafts but I limit boost to 6 psi and back off the timing (total) 4 degrees.

I have a Roots style Magnuson blower on my Harley Shovelhead since winter 79 but the rest of it isn't much stock either, altho the pistons ARE factory H.D. 8.5 to 1.

A blower (centrifugal) does cost but if you consider the power to weight ratio for the dollars spent, you can't beat it for safe horsepower. Cost comparable to a V-8 but without the added WEIGHT!

Nitrous is the only cheaper alternative, but it is NOT safe for engine reliability or longevity.

I still vote for
ProCharger kit @ 6 psi max
Freshwater cooling kit (so you can NOT worry about electrolysis)
Alum Heads
Alum intake
Camshaft @ 218 intake 228 exhaust, lobe centers no tighter than 112, actually 114 would take more advantage of the boost and develop MORE torque
