Disconnect the coil to distributor wire so it won't fire up. This is for the old school motor.

crestliner.jpgwell its a done deal, brought the crestliner home today. got a good deal i think, 1300 for the whole shootin match. Trailer needs tires but no biggie. ran it in the erie canal tonight, started easy, idled great, but bogged down at mid and high speed. it hasn't been in the water this year, the gas was from last year and alledgedly treated, but i'm going to start by drainin the tank and starting with some new fuel. might douche the carbs with some of that lubed cleaner, that a good idea or no? the plugs look fine, they are those gapless jobbies. Compression test was good i think, all the cylinders were around 100 give or take 5. pumped water good but i'm still going to change the impeller.

Use some Seafoam in the fuel it is great product and makes a huge difference in a two stroke motor.

sea.foam.rocks. holy hell, this motor barely got out of its own way the first time out, the 2nd time after a half can of sea foam and some carb cleaner it ran nearly perfectly. it was still a little cold blooded at first, and it stumbled once or twice, but i am thinking once i get more fresh gas through it it will continue to improve. thanks for the heads up on sea foam! now on to the next issue, milky WHITE gear oil leaking from the lower unit vent screw. hopefully its just the screw seal.
