Further to my post a few weeks back regarding the OMC optical ignition analyzer, I have designed and built an electronic analyzer which allows you to easily set the ignition timing on motors equipped with the OMC optical (OIS2000) ignition system (60 degree V6 motors from 1991 to 2003 and V4's from about 1995).

The analyzer allows you to set the timing accurately without running the motor (as detailed in the service manuals) and is the most convenient way of setting timing. I believe that analyzers cost in excess of US$300 from OMC or about US$200 for an aftermarket version.

If there is enough interest, I could put together a few additional units for other OMC DIY'ers. Obviously, I would need to charge for these but should be able to supply them at a lot lower price than the existing units.

Note that this device can be used for setting the ignition timing statically, but it doesn't do the dynamic timing sensor test which the OMC analyzer does.

If you are interested, for further details email me at:
Seasport1@hotmail.com
