I still can't figure out why the motor will not idle. It runs fantastic at medium and highest speed. I took the carb off again and checked out the one piece the carb rebuild kit said I could leave in when cleaning. When I checked for the part, the idle needle bushing (bearing), there does not appear to be one still in there.
My motor is a 79 9.9 Johnson. The 1979 service manual shows that there is supposed to be one in the diagram, however the 1979 parts manual does not have one in the diagram???? I am having a very hard time getting the new one to go in. Does this mean this motor doesn't need one? It will not go past the threads where the slow speed needle goes in.
