lower unit on 2003 merc 250

Just got finished changing lower unit oil and noticed a very small amount of water intrusion, could this just be condensation from sitting all winter? And if i run the motor on the muffs & check the fluid again will i be able to tell if water is getting in there, or will i have to run it in the water? Thanks

Hard to say if it's condensation or not. I doubt it. Have you been replacing those paper gaskets on the drain and vent plugs each time?

A pressure and vacuum check (When the lower unit is empty) will verify if there are leaks or not.

Yep, i replace the little gaskets every year
