Why is that? I used a hydrofoil first on my Mercury 175EFI and then on my Yamaha F200. Worked extremely well. Great bang for the buck. I did modify mine so that it was clamped on such that I did not have to drill holes. Did that so that if it did not work I could remove it.The Holes can certainly be filled with JB Weld(Always gives me pleasure to see any and all of those Whaletale things tossed). As for the second Motor with the damaged AV Plate, it appears to me that Metal forward of the Damage, is bent upwards a bit. That should be Straightened, as the Curvature can cause Water to curl up, instead separating cleanly from the AV Plate as intended. A Welder, skilled in working on Aluminium should be able to do fix that, and also rebuild the missing Metal
I had one on my Honda 15 hp with a tunnel hull for the prop, worked awesome. Why is that? I used a hydrofoil first on my Mercury 175EFI and then on my Yamaha F200. Worked extremely well.
