i was told the seals needed replaced as it was seeping some water into the gear case . i bought the seals and am starting into it i have pulled the 4 bolts out that were way down in there . does the intired shaft houseing unscrew to get it out . it looks to have thead's on the outer houseing and it must take a special wrench to do this ?

The drive shaft seals are located in the bearing housing. (Click the thumbnail, please.) You will need to unbolt the housing and slide it up and off of the shaft unless you have the special tool to remove the seals in place. The bearing housing is sealed in place by large o-rings.

You can use the BRP parts catalogs to help with assembly: http://shop.evinrude.com/
Click the diagram in the upper right corner of the linked page, then navigate to your model.
