Meanwhile back at work,
The Alien Booger, (Iboats revelation, my nick name is BOOGER, or Boog) LOL

Gotta prime ladder rack first then the rest of it
IMG_20121027_121626.jpg

Got the rest primed, my son Cody got his first taste of the spray gun under the trailer, good place to learn. Last coat of primer on at 3 pm, boys are whooped and got a ride home, so on my own and got a hour to kill before I can shoot color soooo, on to a little problem with the tilt trailer. The catch for the tilt lock was broken and I did not fab it in when we did the marathon trailer rebuild.

Got that taken care of and painted black, also painted all the hardware on the trailer that was not black, only problem I got with it yet is I put over sized rollers on to make a nice landing pad. Only have two of the 12" rollers on it need two more that have been back ordered at Ritchfield trailer for two months!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck!!!!!! oh well someday. Back to painting at 4.15, Two coats of color and it is 6.30 pm cleaning the gun and out of here!!!!!!!! (picked the boat and boys up at 6.30 am)

Any color you want on your trailer as long as it is Black!!!!!!!!!!!
Wish I had more progress to show on the boat but it is what it is!, we will rock out over the next coupla weeks and get it a long ways. Two week goal is to have exterior of hull painted white and on the trailer, floor and foam in and sides and seat boxes figured out!!!!! YA RIGHT, I hope so, need to get this thing closer to completion, spring trolling bite is coming!
See ya, Mag out!

Ya, if it's that hard to get off I'd leave it too. I wouldn't worry about leaks with the inside being done.

That is one serious trailer you are building.....
Ya, way over kill, our guys are hard on stuff and they are always overloaded, not gonna have something I put together coming unglued on John Q public!!! My trailers will hold it! I will get some pics up on completion, up front there is a shed built like an enclosed trailer, they look sweet rolling down the road.

I like black trailers :)

Looks like a heck of a lot of work to sand & then repaint the hull.... And it's a huge hull to go polished...

I agree w/ DJ if it's that tough to remove, treat it like well stuck primer!

Magnum, just finished reading through your thread, what an undertaking from the other one that you cut up. that will be one nice sled when you get her done. Love the bracket and swim platform also. that will make a nice addition.

Progress however so slight is still progress. Keep it up bud.

All right, got serious about prepping for primer tonight, Started out on the other end of the spectrum from the 36 grit to a red scotch brite and Scuff prep (sand paper in a bottle) and a bucket of hot soapy water.
IMG_20121029_192116.jpg

Turned out ok, washed it off and let it dry and still had more sheen to it than I wanted, so moved on to 320 wet dry paper and my bucket of hot soapy water. looked a lot better!:) moved on to an acid bath with my aluminum eater, worked mint. first coat took all the discoloration out of the paint that would not sand out, second coat bubbled up some paint and the pressure washer blew it off. So went back and scotch brite the whole hull and rinsed off. Moved it into the paint booth to dry!

Wow MD, just read your entire thread. Great work and it seems there may be an Islander resto finished this year after all! :)

(What was that Jas? You've been busy with a Sea Nymph... oh, OK, you're excused... for now! :p)
