Re: Mariner 40HP

I believe I have it figured out.

Looks like the exhaust bucket is missing as well a some seals.

I'm going to need to drop the midsection and see what is missing.

This is becoming quite the puzzle ;)

Or possible like this:

Either way, I will need to open it up to get a better look at it.

Going to see what the scoop is what the water/exhaust in the driveshaft housing that is coming out at the mounts.

Re: Mariner 40HP

Does anyone know if water/exhaust should be inside the red area?

The circled areas all lead to the center water/exhaust jacket (arrow):

And then out the exhaust port on the driveshaft housing of the motor:

When I took the exhaust tube out, seal number 12 was missing:

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Re: Mariner 40HP

I ordered some gaskets and the seal that was missing. Once I get these, I'll start getting her back together.

Hopefully the missing seal is the reason there was water and exhaust coming out of the top mounts.

Well I should be getting the last of the seals and gaskets today.

I'm going to fix the 8 busted/correded bolts and start getting it put back together and run it.

There is so much damn corrosion on everything that it's getting to the point it's not work the headache and I still need to get a prop for it.

It would be easier to just tear it down and part it out.

Does anyone know where a PDF version of this manual could be purchased and downloaded on the web?
