Re: Mariner Magnum 40

Hi, Im back from the "outback" as you probably would have called it Chris. Had a great time with nice weather and two two pound (1kg) golden mountain trout cought on dryfly in my back pack.
Im going to work tomorrow and will be gone until friday.
Did you understand my explanation about the carb sealent which covered the slot and a "backhole" to the idle mixture screw?
You would not belive what I must pay for a carb rebuilding set! More than US $100 for each set. When you are talking about a carb rebuilding set, $10-15 is a normal price. Is this only the gaskets cause they cost only $ 12 for each carb and $17 for the oilpump. What do I need under normal conditions? Full rebuild set or only a gasket set for the carbs?

Paul

... Yes ....

What's in this 'rebuild' kit? I would have thought the gasket set and a 'needle and seat' would have been enough.

Chris.........

Re: Mariner Magnum 40

Dunno what happened Noodles.

I do know that having raved about the Mariner Magnum 40 I then sold it with the boat and the new owner managed to self-detonate a conrod through the side of it on his first outing :(
I have no idea what happened, although I have my suspicions about the engine being run without water but not my problem :D

I too would love to know if NV ever got his engine sorted............
