That's all pretty basic hull damage. You'll have it fixed in no time. You flipped yours exactly the same as I did mine.

Re: "Master Bait'R" Restore Thread

Today I decided that its time to finish the trailer, I need to get rid of it, its to large for my boat and it is a really nice trailer just needs some TLC. So I grabbed the grinder and went to town. It had a lot of surface rust and being that the trailer was white it really stuck out.

I got about 3/4's of the way done before I put her away,

So this weekend all that was done was Flip the Hull and Grind the trailer.

One first 3 support beams you can see all the rust, they all were like that before I started. THey are only like that on the front side the back side has nothing like that on the back. I figured it was just from all the road debris.

All put away for the week (so she doesnt rust.)

And the Hull as she sits

Have an awesome week and hope that the weekend comes fast.

Good looking progress on the trailer and congrats on a successful hull flip!

If you want to save yourself a little trouble, go to your local hardware store and ask if they have "OSPHO"...get some and use it on the bare metal and any rusty areas of the trailer...

Here is a link to what Ospho is...Ospho Rust Treatment - Since 1947

Thanks Bill

Hey can I make PB to fill scratches on my trailer? I was not sure if it would adhere to the metal or not.

You can and it will, but a cheaper product with less hassle is to just get some polyester filler {aka;Bondo}
Cheaper, faster, easier to apply and sand...
Just make sure it is put on bare metal and try and leave the metal rough {36-60 grit}
Then before you paint use a high quality primer/sealer.

Here's my take on the trailer. Unless you have some Major Deep metal scratches and gouges, I wouldn't worry about filling them. Once it's sanded, primered and painted She'll look so good you won't notice em. If they are Major then some Autozone Body filler would be my choice as well.

Re: "Master Bait'R" Restore Thread

I was just gonna roll the trailer and boat, but have decided that picking up this might make the job a little faster.
She not the newest but I think she is gonna do just fine for what I want to do

4hp 20 gal 220v compressor I am not sure what year but it says it will run two guns at the same time.

7.3 cfm at 90psi

I think that should be sufficient? Im going to pick up some hvlp guns tonight Ill post them later.

$50

Did you look at the boat?

Did you think about the boat?

If Yes, to either or both of those questions, then progress was attained...:D:rolleyes:

Yep, that's progress. Probably spent as much time thinking about solving problems as I did working on mine.

Unfortunately No, there are some financial situations going on right now that have put this project on pause. I am currently looking for a place to move the boat to.... It looks like she is going to go into a storage unit for a little while.

Re: "Master Bait'R" Restore Thread

Well, I have found a new home for my project. I will only be able to work on it in very minimal amounts but will get to keep it and that was the big worry. So over the next month I am going to do as much as I can because after that I will have not Idea the next time I will get to work on it.

I purchased some bunk carpet yesterday so I can put the bunks back on the trailer, kinda pointless to paint the boat without putting the carpet on. So That should be done this week. Then After that I am going to put the floor in. I have about 3 gallons of resin that I will need to get rid of otherwise its going to go bad.

What I have not decided is how to attach the floor to the hull. I have not decided if I should use PB or PL because of the area that has to be covered. Each side has 1'x12' area that the floor will lay flat against.

What would you recommend to attach the floor to hull? Needs to be cost effective.

Also when I lay mat on the bottom side should I cut the hole for the ski locker first or after I lay the mat?
