Re: Merc 175 ????

If you find it has gone too far, you can always get a new sleeve.

That engine can put up with a lot. You can put a steel sleeve in one hole and it'll be just fine. The rings need to be different for that one hole.

The block can also be renicisil'd if several holes are iffy. Pits small enough so they don't break your fingernail are pretty normal also.

hope it helps

Re: Merc 175 ????

Thanks for the come back,

As far as the buzzer it does sound with the key,But it did not sound when it ran out of oil, the wire coming out of the top of the motor mounted resevoir cap is parted inside the wire coating ,by what I can tell.I'll know better when I get back to work on the boat. But I am positive it did not sound when the oil ran out. Ether way I need to fix the buzzer to prevent it from happening again.

I was told that I can reuse all of the rings and bearings on the other pistons is that right?

Used to rebuilding auto motors I guess I'm being to much of a perfectonist with this large "lawn mower" motor?

Thanks for all the Help
