Being you have an 2004, your Mercruiser wiring harness cannon plug connector still ought to be a 10 pin design as the 14pin didn't seem to come out until late 2005 into 2006 if i recall correctly...This same timeframe of design change is when Mercruiser started using the cam shaft sensor plugged into the distributor assembly...Yours should not utilize the cam shaft sensor as the sensor inside the distributor assembly shouldn't have a wire harness plugged into it either.
