Mercruiser fuel pressure gauge hook up - 454 MPI

how can I measure the fuel pressure on my 1998 454 MPI. there is a port on the front of the engine with a schrader valve. what fitting do I need to connect a fuel pressure gauge.

boat will fire but not run or idle.

is the safety lanyard properly in place?

you need a fuel pressure guage that has a schrader valve end on it to measure the fuel pressure

yes the lanyard is in place.

the fuel test port is larger than a tire style shrader valve. where can I get fuel pressure gauge that will work with this port?

the pump will run when key is cycled. I got about 4-5 oz of fuel from the return line from cycling the prime 12-15 times.

It looks line I may be able to 't' into the rail supply as they are flare fitting instead of that handy test port. no fun.

thanks found one at autozone. got a filter wrench while I was there.....

pressure was fine it was the water separator that was full of water that keep it from running.

all good now thanks..
