mercruiser gimbalhousing inner and outer bolt torque specs?

Any torque specs on gimbal housing to outer housing? Or does everyone just tighten them down 2 turns past stripping?

Not sure what your asking, the 6 drive mounting nuts or the hinge pins?

50 ft pounds. That would be with new nuts, and studs that are in good shape. If they are wore out, they will give an incorrect reading, overtighten and squish out the gasket. you can re-use the nuts several times, but I "feel" how they are turning when removing and installing, and replace as needed.

They are Ny-locs so just nice and very snug. No Gorilla force neded

Ayuh,.... They are chrome plated brass ny-lock nuts,..... 50 ft.lbs. is the stated torque value,....

I just snug 'em to "Good, 'n tight" with my calibrated elbow,.....

Just so it's a clearer, safer picture here, one of your other posts suggest you may of been pulling the engine and Transom Assembly out of the boat as you mentioned;

Leak at bottom of bellhousing is wait for it ROTTEN TRANSOM!!! Bottom 3 inches is mush. Filled bilge with water and it leaked out around gimbal ring. Looks like next post will be in Restoration!
