Mercruiser. Reusing new transom seal?

New seal. I cranked down down the transom assembly then took it off 5 minutes later. I know you don't reuse old seals. If there something about the seal that makes it a one time (5 minute) use on a new seal. It bounced back but maybe not quite all the way round

From your description 'you seem good to reuse the new seal again as they are for the most part reusable if not damaged, etc..

Wasn't sure if it was some sort of high tech foam that once it compresses it can't be used again. Overthinking it but it's an important part.

As you note...it is a very important part...and some would say, why take a chance? My thought would be it never had a chance to "take a set" so you should be fine.
