Just replaced the shaft seals on a 1990 Wellcraft St Tropez LXH to the new drip-less type. All went well machined my own thin easy to use 2-1/4 nut wrenches. Put them on then the old master of boats 50 yrs in the business came by and said we have just made the biggest mistake of your lives by using the drip-less seals. They are the worst and biggest failure to come out in boating. He said they are failing all over the place and everyone is going back to the original style with packings. Anyone every hear of a problem with these types of seals? I have not and now a little worried.
