If it is 6 cyl. you have a band which goes around engine and a front cover. The front cover has a teardrop shaped knob near the bottom. Turn this and lift cover off. You should be see some toggle clamps. Release them and band should swing apart and come off.
I gave you inst for 110. Your engine should have a lever on the rear which you push down then you lift up on cover and lift off. You should see a rubber seal going around engine...this is where cover separates.
need help...i have a 115 hp 6 cyclinder mercury...have trouble when putting the throttle in forward or backward...it stalls out....does not stall if i push throttle forward or backwards far enough to keep from stalling...when in the slip and docking i need it to not stall and yet go slow enough...changed out spark plugs...is there something i'm missing??? i know it is probaly something small...
Actually it's probably a sign it's getting tired.<br /><br />If the idle and idle needles are set correctly, it out not do that. Try turning the idle up a little and re-doing the needles.<br /><br />-W
