Min. clearance between prop and A/V plate?

Is there a minimum amount of clearance you should have between the tip of the blade and the A/V plate? If this distance is too close will there be heat or wear issues?

I have run as close as 1/4 inch and had no issues.

I just checked and 1/4" is what I have.

The closest I have is 5mm (0.19 inch) on one of my motors ........ it runs fine
