Ok, so 2 carbs, same symptoms on both. That pretty much rules out a carb issue. How do the plugs look, soaked or dry. Have you tried running it on one plug, try top first , then bottom? Reed issues can be misleading, good compression, good spark- bad idle. Could be upper/lower crankcase seals as well.

When I pulled the plugs, they were wet... oily I would say, but not so bad as to be unusual, I have not tried pulling plug wires while the engine was running is that something I should try? I am considering the reed valves, but I am not getting the symptomatic spit back from the carburetor that others are reporting, and my mid-range power is excellent... I am on a restricted lake, so I am not 100% sure about WOT, but the motor easily planes my 16 ft aluminum for a minute or two when no one is looking. ( as long as I can get it in gear) the motor just wants to shut down as soon as the throttle valve closes all the way.

How precise do you have to be with the Idle mixure screw? I have worked my way through the operable range at about 1/4 turn adjustments, I would have thoght that I would have found a point in that range that could make me smile if I was on track, but maybe I am taking too large of a swing at it?

Can you explain the process of testing the crankcase pressure? I am assuming that could help trouble shoot a bad seal on the powerhead... Thanks
