Re: Mods & Rules

I have very strong opinions about polltics and like to discuss the topic because it is so important to the future of our country and its children. That said, I mostly stay away from the topic here because I have never seen a forum where it is allowed, that has not descended into a pit of constant bickering and general nastyness.

I support the decision to keep it in check here.

WTIF.... i boats is a boating store........a business........why would reading a political thread make you want to buy a boat part?

You might want to take a looksee at the topics in the DC area, and you tell me exactly how many of those have anything to do with boating. In fact, by the definition of DC on the forum homepage, it's the area of the forum where you can discuss things OTHER than boating.

Yep. The original name of this forum was "Nothing to do with boats."

Re: Mods & Rules

I came back from my desert season activities to find the dockside chat had still been maintaining the stricter rules. I thought I would come back and find a "war room"of some sorts or more slack.
I felt the intense threads gave the board a "personality" some say bad, some say good. I liked it. I enjoyed seeing the real feelings of people I share the water with. It should have been as simple as adding a forum at the bottom with a password and let'em have at it.
On the flipside, I do find myself more in the technical parts of the forum's where I learn a heck of alot and sometimes give bad advise...:p

Nothing beats the feeling of giving someone advice in the tech section and walking away proud, and finding out later you were wrong. You just want to stick your head in a barrel full of piranha.
