I have my 'being restored boat' in the shop where I work. I get to stare at her a lot. I have to save the big jobs for my one day off. I got quite a bit done on Sunday, but I had the blues today....I go crazy wanting to work on her and get her finished. She's almost finished enough to splash her for the first time since I have owned her...

Blue Skies as the eyes can see. Didn't even break an 100 Degrees today. Dang I wish I was boating.

More like a Monday morning hangover....lol. But that's gone now. :)

I'm off Wednesday and my wife is working in the morning, but will be back home by 11. Mid-week boating is the best. Nothing like floating down the river with a few beers and a bucket of chicken while everyone else is slaving away at work. Can't wait to get tomorrow over with! :D

I hope yer all done with the bellyachin and complainin! I'll tell you what Monday morning blues are! I'm a stay at home "mom". First it's get the children dressed, make sure they have a good breakfast, make sure the bookbags are packed, and pick up four other kids in the neighborhood. Then drop the screamin meamies off at school, and come home just to find out that Judge Judy already started and I have no idea who is prosecuting who. This early Discovery channel is still playing infomercials! Can you believe my day already! Then when I go in to take my mid morning nap I find out that the wife forgot to fluff my pillow. Can you believe it! I fluff it myself and rest for a little while. After a few hours and some good stretches I now have the worst dilemna in front of me....What to have for lunch. Pizza, sandwich? I don't know! Could life get any harder? I just catch the end of the science channel claiming a meteor might hit the earth and I'm wondering if I have the boat covered properly. I dont need ash and soot all over my upholstery. All this world ending stuff has left me fatigued and it's time to retire to the bed for an afternoon nap. After a little while I wake up because the neighbor has decided to fire up the weedwacker at one in the afternoon. Can you believe it! The nerve of some people. I turn on the boob tube and realize it's another Oprah re run and someone is cheating on someone on General Hospital. I grab a Hershey bar to escape this cruel world for a while and then go pick up the sreamin meamies from school. Life can be hell but I don't need your pity. I'll find a way to get through it........:D:p:rolleyes::)

I've had water on the brain lately. The wife and I are in the process of looking for a boat, and my mind is on the search. So yeah...daydreaming of the day we get to finally splash our new baby. My mind is certainly not on the work in front of me.

Re: Monday Morning Blues

I work second shift. If I don't work overtime, its 3:30pm until 12:30am, Monday thru Thursday, and noon till 6pm on Fridays. Leaving me just enough time to make it down to the bar for a couple pints of Guinness before last call during the week, and leaving my weekend pretty much intact. In bed around 3-4am, sleep until noon, swim (if its warm enough), and just generally hang out on the boat until about 3pm (I live on a houseboat), then off to work again.

The early Friday thing is great, because it lets me hit the downtown scene Friday night, Saturday night, AND Sunday night, with time to recover before work Monday afternoon. Of course, it takes the entire week for the wallet to recover... I'm still trying to figure out that part...

Isn't that the truth! It's just a matter of what "fires" are we going to have to put out today! I'm going to have to go hang out with mpdive for a while.

When I have those dreaded Monday morning drags, I go to a better place and better memories. Like this place for example. Goose Island in Glacier National Park. One of the prettiest places on Earth as far as I am concerned.

What's a Monday? Workin 50+hrs a week for 3+ years and no end in sight. There are nights I have to look at a calendar to find out what day it is.
I haven't had more than 2 days off in any single week sense the beginning of May! Every other week is manditory 6 days. Was even required to work 9hr days the last 2 holidays and as of right now looks like we'll be working Thanksgiving also.

Ok tell us what you want in a boat. I have a Classic Glastron in my garage with a barefoot boom and it's a beauty, looking for a buyer (but not too hard, I admit) If I knew how to stick a pic here I would add one for you--but it's on the CGOA site as well. $3500.00 it's on a solid Al trailer--they don't make em like this anymore.

Wow that is a long grind--Kudos for keeping that up for so long--what are you making? (I mean what product)
