Boy, these boats sure are money pits. How do ya'll justify it? The warden is ready to divorce me!!!!:rolleyes:

When was the list time you had a bad time while boating? Is it still to expensive? Does she not enjoy the boat?

Boating is far less expensive, not to mention healthier, than smoking, doing crack, having a mistress, being a drunk, or beating your wife.

She just doesn't realize how lucky she is to be married to an iboater. :)

Money pits??? Pits have a bottom. At some point, after enough cash has been thrown in, it will require no more because it is full. Boats are money abysses!:eek: There is no bottom nor end to when you stop throwing money in it. It freakin lasts forever:eek:.

But, you can't take it with you when you go.:rolleyes:
Enjoy life while your here. Boating is a great pass time, hobby, lifestyle, activity, whatever or however you want to look at it.

I for one, and I think most of the others here, could not imagine life without a boat. In fact, I am awaiting some new hydro lines for mine so I don't have to be land stricken this weekend.

Besides, I think you're just venting...;)

My boat was nearly new when I bought it and I suppose have been lucky so the pit hasn't quite opened yet. Some gas, gear and incidentals are just the price of any other hobby. My tune and more likely my wife's will probably change when my 100 hour maintainance gets done this fall. I can think of a lot worst things on which to spend money. We build our family vacations around boating which is a lot cheaper than Disney. That is a good justification. Of course I am completely ignoring the check I wrote to actually buy it. We don't need to talk about that.

My wife was on the phone with a friend of hers who was telling her about the toubles they had on their boat outing. I hear my wife comments "They are more trouble than they are worth". I look at her and say, "so are the cigs you keep smoking but that's not stopping ya." I got the evil eye, but won the point. LOL.

But seriously she likes going out on it, just not money being sunk into it right now without being to go out on it yet. In reality, the money I'm spending on it is money I get her to pigeon hole for me once I get my yearly bonus. We usually split the bonus up as "money to play with now, money for her tuition, money to pay off bills, and money for the boat".

Everyone gets a piece of the pie so we have no real issues.

I'm pretty lucky, my wife doesn't complain much. We have a deal though, 1/3 of any overtime or special duty that I work goes into the "toy fund". I use that to keep it floating ;)!

My wife likes being out of cell range and a boat is about the only way to get there nowadays.:D

They may be money pits to some degree, but when you have a boat you always have SOMETHING to do. Whether it's maintenance, repairs, enjoying it on the water with family and friends, or sitting in it in your driveway and having a beer.

Is it a Money pit. YES !! only when I go to fill the 2 100gal gas tanks. :D.
Thats over $620 of a fun filled weekend. :)

Well, saying that I have money right now would be kind of a strong statement, but I DO have a boat and no wife.

I dont think they are money holes any more then anything else. I feel my house is the money hole....i put more in that then the boat in just payments and when it comes down to it........I dont own the house the bank does! At last the boat is paid off! Plus I enjoy it more then sitting in the house!

My wifes never said a word about spending money on it. As long as we can pay cash for the toys, then life is good. :)
