Just tell him to keep his crap out of the house. If he's a straight A student, he's not screwing up anything but his own health. Sounds like he's going to do it whether you like it or not too, so you might as well talk straight with him.

Your 1st point did sound a little ridiculous. On your other points I completely agree, except for the golf thing. My shoulders already hurt from HS football without swinging any clubs...

Many think that pot is a gateway drug and my point is that it is not. If anything, alcohol is more a gateway drug than pot and way more harmful.

IMO, if your kid gets "straight A's" in college and only smokes pot, you should be thanking your "lucky stars".

A family member, just today, had to turn his 30 year old meth addicted, paroled son, into the Sheriff, for outstanding bench warrants. His son just missed dying in a meth house explosion, that burned and blinded son's friend. He has been addicted to everything and has never worked a regular job (prison or taverns). He is going back to jail.

Chew out your son big-time, for bringing it into your home, or your car. Lay down the law for the future and explain to him again, the ramifications, of him getting caught with pot.

The shotgun thing, may have been related to drug activity - maybe something else. Either is not good. The Son probably has a very good idea on what's up.

Get a pair, for dealing with your wife. Presumably, it's your house, that could get confiscated, in a drug bust.

sounds like shooting shot gun outside house is a warning,payup soon or else,happens here all the time,young lady shot to death here reacently,19 yrs old,cause a friend in the car with 3 others owed for dope ,missed the guy they intended ,killed and wounded over dope,

Sounds like the son in the bathroom and the guy shooting the shotgun outside are two unrelated things to me. Mark can tell us but I believe it is in the story is because it happened to bring the troopers to the front door.

update, caught 4 people in shooting, but also found witness to shooting shot dead the night befor. and some people say a little dope dont hurt anything, must not live in real world.

Wow, first off you guys that keep trying to link the kid smoking to people shooting are nuts, pay up? For what? Where did that come from.

You know what's the worst thing in our country right now?

Pills! Prescribed by a doctor and ruining more lives than anything.

They just found someone I know's body in the woods a couple weeks ago. She was tied up. Cut up (tortured) and finally killed. a couple days latter they hauled her off to the woods. Her husband, kids, and grandchild are a wreak. All because she had some pills they wanted! People get crazy on them and their life let alone others lives don't matter. People that smoke meth (and that is some brain dead living) can't cope with them and that says something.

Mark I know we don't get along, but seriously don't kick him out or even make a big deal out of it. Tell him not in your house if you want, although most would rather their kid to do things at home than worry about where they are going to do it and what builds out of that.

He's an A student, in college.

Just cause the political system is against it doesn't mean much to an intelligent person. There are places where you can't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes or have sex certain ways, yet if he smokes a joint and gets some oral sex (illegal in many states) from his girl it's not going to ruin him.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds to me that you and the wife have more to work on other than the pot issue. I wish you both the best, but I've been there. As far as the pot, talk to him man to man about what choosing to use pot means as a life choice. Some enjoy it, some don't and some it leads to nastier stuff. Be real and not condecending. Tell him you are proud of his college accomplishments, because a 4.0 is freaking hard to get. He is a young man. Treat him that way and let him decide. You can choose not to have it in your home and he should respect that.
