hi
i left my boat in the water all summer. its 270 miles from home, i havent been able to get back to it becasue i had open heart surgey this summer and my doctor said i couldnt travel.
anyway about 1 week ago they had about 10-12 of inches of rain in 24 hours
my buddy called me last week and told about the storm but he didnt say anything about my boat being sunk.
it was tied to the dock and the motor was underwater. the bow was still out.
anyway my a coulpe of my friends tried a sump pump but it didnt work fast enough so they jumped in the boat with 5 gallon buckets and started bailing as fast as they could and she came up.
they pulled my seats and took everthing out to dry. i owe these guys a lot.
when i got there there was about 2 inches of water in the bottom. i pumped that out.
i then trolled over to the landing with the trolling motor and pulled it out.
i pulled the plugs and cranked it over it shot water about 30 feet. i kept cranking until it was just a fine mist , i replaced the plugs, and sprayed fogging oil in the carbs.
and it started i let it run on the muffs for about 45 minutes.
then i pulled the plugs again and sprayed more fogging oil in the cylinders, and in the carbs,
i sprayed all the linkage with silcone spray.

Is there anything else i should have done?

i'm so happy it runs

sorry for the long post but i thought i would share my story.
So from now on my boat comes out when i leave.
no more leaving it unattended.
Don
