my black max is running hot

My 86 black max 200 is running very hot and alarms go off then my motor shuts down. I also do not get full throttle without it bogging down. I drained fuel tank and carb bowls and started with fresh fuel, but cant seem to get it to run good. Any thoughts. Thanks

If you've been trying to run it without cooling, you probably melted her down already. They go from cold to melted in about 45 seconds.

If it still has good compression, change the water pump before you run it again.

the water is coming out of the rear hole pretty good, its just really hot. Could I still have melted it?

When doing a compression check, how many revolutions do you let the motor turn to get a correct reading? Thanks

Till it peaks. Usually takes about 6. Take all the plugs out so the only one pumping is the one you're testing, and block the throttle valves open by jamming something in the linkage at the throttle pickup cam.

Compression should be around 120, and little difference between cylinders.

It's possible the alarm switch is fuddled up and turns on too soon. Telltale should be uncomfortable hot, but not instantly injurious.
