Re: My Chieftan project

Busy day today. Paint, paint, and more paint. I wish the pictures could do it justice. Can't wait to see her outside in the sunshine but still have one side left to do tomorrow. So as required, here are today's pics.

A primer sealer coat being applied.

The sandstone applied.

The transom

From the bow.

The overview.

Really am loving the colors, the lower dark is again the estate green, with a stripe of the kiwi green and overall the sandstone. Tomorrow we will do the other side of the hull then on Sunday remove all the paper and tape. Then I should be able to get an overall shot of the boat.

Re: My Chieftan project

Thanks again guys. It is extremely exciting nearing the completion of the painting and watching her come to life in her new skin. I am truly grateful to my buddy Tim for his expertise and knowledge in the prep and application of the paint. I never realized the amount of work involved in this process.

Still a lot of work left to do upon completion of the paint but I an striving to get her completed for a spring launch!!

Now that's a nice paint job. It's hard to tell what color it is from way down here. Can't wait to see some outside shots

Got this side done today!! Tomorrow will pull all the tape and paper off and will get a good look at her. Then we plan to get her up in the air and off the trailer so we can start on the bottom. Hopefully it will be a bit sunny out and maybe will pull it outside to get some daylight pics. For a 42 y/o boat she is starting to look pretty darn good.
