Things are coming along.. dry fitting stringers, was concerned about leveling things but it all came together well.

Stringers look GREAT! I like the route you took for keeping them in place! Do you have them lifted off the hull a little bit with that setup? Thanks for the good idea!

I wanted nothing but to work on my boat this weekend, but I had to stay domesticated due to my back injury. That just means I have a lot of work to do next weekend!

ty Peter, hope you get to feeling better, take advantage of the rest when you can! I was glad to beat the weather. Cold and wet here now... makes me want to do nothing but stay in bed

They are lifted slightly with shims every few feet.. the equivalent to quartr inch dowels. Just waiting for the next "warm" day in my future to have a PB n glassin' party. Thank Woodonglass for ALL the good ideas, those supports make life sooooo much easier!

Its kiln dried yellow pine I believe... I had planned on laminating plywood like the transom but Ive had this wood for years and it was just the right size. I assume its as dry as its going to get and wont warp on me if it stays that way. I just ran it through the planer and sanded. The main reason for the choice is that it will not effect my budget any.

Very nice audience you have...The stringers and transom look great.. Very nice job on the stringer supports..
The wood you used for the stringers will last for ever as long as you seal them in the fiberglass...

Thank you both, Its really a fun project that Im glad I decided to do. I could have spent the same amount (of finished project) on a halfway decent boat in good shape but this is way more fun and will be wayyy more rewarding in so many ways.

Now to research the most cost effective way to heat my garage... about to have two weeks off work and winter seems to have finally taken hold here in Ky :/ Before arriving here we spent the last 8 years in Arizona n Texas.. Whats this white frosty stuff on my windows in the mornings???

There's people that pay thousands of dollars for a used fiberglass boat only to find out soon after that their boat is rotten and in need of a couple thousand dollars of repair. You did the right thing buying your boat.

You're really kicking some boat butt on this project and your work looks excellent!

For heating your garage I suggest 2 or 3 of those portable oil filled heaters around the boat. They don't have a flame so you don't have to worry about starting a fire with combustibles.

I've got one of these...
Mr. Heater Propane Convection Heater 80000 BTU MH80CV : Rural King

It runs off my Tank from the Grill. On Low, it heats my 2 car garage from 30? to 70? in 30 mins. I shut it off and it will hold the heat above 60 for a couple of hours then I fire it back up for 10 mins or so. My Garage door IS insulated fully however and a good floor seal too. I Don't spray paint with it on but I can get it up to 70 shut if of and paint with a fan under the door to pull the fog. then Fire it back up to allow the paint to dry. Cost us under $100 bucks. 20# tank of Propane will last about 10-12 hours on low.

I like both those ideas.. It wouldnt take much to heat. I was leaning towards jigns suggestion and that heater you use would be perfect.. hadnt seen that one so thank you.
My only concern, and I know its been a subject matter many times on these forums.. is if I want to glass in the garage not having the door all the way open.. might be a better idea to have some patience and wait for some warmer days... just one problem.. i have NO patience

Patience...Hmm What's that??? It is better when the temps are right but it can be done successfully in colder temps. In an attached garage you always have to worry about the STINK of Poly and it getting in the house. Wive's DON'T Like the SMELL!!!!

was it pressure treated?

Not treated, Or is it.. wow i dunno.. I hear they advise against that? *shrugg*. Its thick dry and straight and looks good to me so...
She hates the smell, I love it lol. But its more the ventilation that concerns me..I need to hang on to what brain cells I still have. But with the resprator I should be good...?

Something I just noticed looking at this pic and have a question. Inside the yellow area WAS a raised, maybe half inch, ply wood core that the box is built on. I had really forgotten about this and wasnt going to replace it. Now Im thinking it must have been there for a reason... strength? To raise the water to the drain hole....? Or will it hinder drainage...? hmmm. I guess it was there for a reason and I should just put it back the way it was

Yup, Respirator is a Must. Ventilation...Always!!! Plywood at the bilge...Make it just like it was. That's my opinion.

Looks like the interesting repairs continued along the hull bottom~hull side area too. Great Stuff isn't so great in a boat :facepalm:

Welcome to the iboats dry dock.......

Those guys you mentioned & others will get ya all the info & help you need to get this Ebbtide back into service....
