Looks real good on the water, sure glad we don't have any of those toothy critters up here.

I could not get my son to get in the water with the hydro-slide, can't imagine why? We never see them in the middle of the lake away from the canal but to a 12 year old it must be like going to the beach after watching Jaws. Gators are actually quite sheepish around humans provided nobody has been feeding them or you are not near a nesting mother. They hate outboards and usually bolt from the sound. Guess we will have to try skiing at lake Marian or Indian River, Gators not so much at those places.

She looks great. Especially hooked behind that Duster. That is an awesome combo. Hope you all have a great boating season, and allot of fun with her this season.

Excellent eye for detail Tnstratofam, It's a 73 Gold Duster with of course a 360CI 4 Barrel small block transplant. 3:55 with suregrip, super stock springs, HD shocks, dual exhaust with headers and 2400 stall converter. It's our back up tow vehicle/local towing. Turns out a stout little street car makes a good tow vehicle.

Thanx for the Splash guys. Took me a bit to figure out what that meant. Very Cool! If I ever Re-paint it, it will become a STARCRAFT!:)

Those gar will bit you, so be careful. I have to say a few things. You boat color scheme looks great. And so does your Duster as well. I'm assuming you have backed up the 360 with a 727 tranny as well. I had a '72 Dodge Challenger with the 340 and the 727 tranny. I liked that car. Great effort on the boat refurbishing... :thumb: :thumb: I like quality work!

Thanx. The tranny is a A999, it's a 904 with a wider low reverse band and an extra stack of frictions. Weighs less and consumes less power than the bulletproof 727. Lived behind my 360 for the last 17 yrs!

Hopefully last of the repair work for a while, got the live well working. Old pump said made in USA, must have been original to the boat. The overflow hose had a hole in it and found out the hard way by soaking the inside of the boat. Good times....

Late to the party...but Welcome!!! :welcome:

A little somethin' to keep an eye on....we're a little snobby over here in the mob when it comes to not replacing the transom wood. When you get the motor hung, give the powerhead a good push/pull to see if there's any flex. Transom-wood failure manifests itself in cracks in the kneebrace &/or splashwell.

So I removed the flotation to get access to the ski eye bolts, it was a little loose and I found a ten year old rat's nest right under the steering cable boot area, it looks like it stayed wet back there behind the foam for a long time. RATS!!!!

Let the repairs begin!!!

Whoa now that's a serious bummer but you found out why it was loose!

That really bites. Replacing the transom is sort of a right of passage for most of us, although I for one thought you might be able to dodge that particular bullet given how nice the rest of the boat looked. Well now you'll be able to ride with complete confidence with the transom solid as a rock.

Ok, I have a new transom soaked in West System Epoxy. Fitted and drilled, removed and soaked all the holes with epoxy too. It's 14 plies, screwed and glued, versus the 9 ply 3 piece original. This sucker will not rot out like the original one and should be super strong!
