ok i got this boat while back fella screwed me but i got to run today after replaceing stator swithbox and triger but its not pumping water in nuetral so i wonting to know is it supposed to ??? 1979 merc 6 cylender115

It should pump water all the time. That motor has no thermostat, so pumping should begin 10 sec after starting it up. The telltales clog easily, so observe water exiting the gratings above the antiventilation plate. If you see it there, the motor is pumpng.

I keep a piece of weed whacker line handy to shove up the telltale hole to unplug it.
