Size matters. Unless you are buying expensive, high-end batteries, consider:<br /><br />Rule #1 plan on using no more than 50% of the batteries a/Hr capacity. This will greatly preserve the overall usable life of the battery.<br /><br />Other Rule #1 plan on an amp discharge rate not to exceed 5% of the batterys a/Hr capacity to obtain performance at the batterys rated a/Hrs. Discharging at a rate higher than 5% reduces the amps available.<br /><br />A 100-a/hr battery will yield an appropriate 50 amps max over a 10-hr period at 5 amp/hr.<br />A 100-a/hr battery will yield an appropriate 50 amps max over a 20-hr period at 2.5 amp/hr.<br />A 100-a/hr battery will NOT yield an appropriate 50 amps max over a 5-hr period at 10 amp/hr.<br /><br />If you need more amps, add more batteries (same size, make, model only!) in parallel.
