Hello,
I was given this Evinrude and told it is 15HP.
Problem is - id plate is gone completely.
Can anyone help to determine at least the year of it?

Thanks.

Kind of like; Can you name this Song from One Note?
The disc with the Serial#, and possibly the Model# is visible in the 6th pic

That is the Serial#
This motor looks like it spent time at Davy Jones's Locker?

You might have to contact BRP. OMC motors were identified with Model #s but there might be a record of the Serial #s at BRP.

Given the thermostat location it is between a 1987 and a 1992 model.-----But I think that mess of a corroded motor needs a complete teardown and inspection.----It might even be hard to get all the bolts out.

I found some pics on Web of 1989 and 1990 motors that look the same...
It will need detailed check after compression test for sure.
If compression is good then there are options, if bad - it is parts motor.
But, knowing the year\model really helps with parts.

"G" in the serial number says it was built at Calhoun, GA. The plant was permanently closed on Christmas Eve, 2000.
