That's funny jb ..... I love the first 15 sec of Miami Vice ....... lol.

I don't know if you guys noticed that there is no tilt tube on this motor.

When I picked it up the guy gave me this:

I have never seen one of these and I assume that you install it on the transom under the clamp bolts. Has anyone used one of these?

Hey Boat ...... I have to see if I still have that template. It took a good beating when I taped it to the Lexan. Do you have a frame for the windshield? That was not an easy task getting that new lexan to take the shape of the old windshield. It helped that I had the frame to force it into.

Some stuff I put in storage as I finished with them and some stuff I just tossed thinking I would never need it again. If I have the template then I would be more then happy to send it to you. The best way to do your keel is to have an extra set of hands to mix a second patch of resin as you are running low. I didn't have the option of a second person so I had all of the cloth pre-cut and layed out on the hull ready to go and I worked early in the morning so it was cooler and didn't kick as fast. I mixed enough resin for one layer.
Alright, thanks Jon Sob for the information. Thats all great advice. I don't have any frame for my windshield, so i guess i'll find a old windshield. I got my eye on a boat thats in the weeds with a decent windshielf on it, i'll go offer the owner 20 bucks for it:D Would you happen to remember how much paint you used for your boat Jon?

I used 2 cups of paint per coat and I put on 4 coats on the hull and 4 on the cap 2 quarts of each color. I only put on 2 coats of primer so just two quarts. I used the roll-n-roll method along with all of the paint info on page 10 of Woodonglass thread. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=384982&page=10

In post 509 of this thread I was trying to remove over spray from my hull and I was told to try clay bar, which I had never heard of, so I purchased some online and it did not seem to do the job. Well, I just found some over spray on my truck and thought that I would pick up a name brand clay bar and try it. It worked great. I used it as described and it removed all of the over spray from my truck with very little effort. Not sure if it was the brand or the surface but this time it did work.

Here is my internet clay:

And here is the name brand one:

The internet clay cost 3 dollars and the name brand cost 18 dollars ....... sometimes cheaper is not always just as good.

Well, two things ..... I named the boat (or I should say the Admiral did ) and forgot to post a pic of the stern so here it is:

And, the Evinrude is mounted. Not fully connected yet but mounted. I think that I want to clean up the control box for the Evinrude so I didn't connect the controls yet but here it is:

The Admiral did a great job naming the boat. Motor looks good hanging on the boat instead of the stand.

The splash is not in the near future ....... the boat and the motor has been put to sleep for the long and cold Ohio winter.
