Started working on the transom a little .... got it sanded down and painted.

Batt tray came and I cut a piece of ply to mount it on .... just waiting for warmer weather to attach it to the sole:

Need to do some work on the cap ends then primer and wet sand. Going to 60 on Wed maybe I can get the cap painted. This crazy weather has slowed my work to a crawl.

Looks great doood! Any work done, is better than no work at all... Heck for me, even sippin some of the WOG resin mixture, staring and day-dreaming is work done! Have a great day man!

Nice work Jon!
I have about decided that I,m going to build a smaller splash. Do you think you can use this ?

You may be able to cut it to fit and glass it in . Add a piece of wood under the rim to attach your sliding door.

Hey sp .... just watched the flip video went pretty smooth ... good job. As for the splashwell, I appreciate the thought but I think because of the different sizes of our boats by the time I did all the modifications on your splashwell it would probably be easier just to make on one from scratch .... mine would have to be smaller also.

It could have gone smoother. But at least I know what to expect next go round.
Yeh the splash might take a lot of modification but I figured i would at least offer it up anyhow.;)

Started looking at some of the small stuff and was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a rod that comes out of the top of the bow light? Can these be found or do I have to make one?

Here is a photo that I copied from Woodonglass thread. His light on the Flamingo has a rod similar to the one that I need.

Might get lucky & find 1 that might work w/ your light on Ebay. Probably have to buy the light & flag pole together... I have seen them though. Search Vintage Hardware in boat parts..

Hey jon,

The older lights like ours, have 5/8'' holes for the burgees. Most of the newer poles have 3/4'' ends. I got a teak one and turned the end down to accept the smaller hole. Sure would like to find an original!!

Thanks jb .... I am going to do a search for an original but I am ok with a hand made one like Ed has.

Ed ..... that looks awesome. I was kind of thinking that I may have to make one but didn't know what to make it out of. Now I know .... thanks Ed.

Burgee Poles like the one on my Bow Light are almost impossible to find. I was extremely lucky that mine was still in tact and in great shape. I have looked everywhere for others and have not found any. If I do. I'll keep you in mind.

Ok .... I know that I haven't posted for a while but I have been working and sanding and working and sanding and sanding some more but I have finally reached the point where I can paint the cap. I have mixed up a color that is close to where I want to be. Here is a sample:
IMG_0127.jpg

Kind of a proper color for a 1960 boat. It has a little more of a green tint then Woodonglass "Flamingo" but that is what I was after. If all works well I will have photos posted of her all dressed up by this time tomorrow.
