Re: Need recomedation for loud marine speakers

I'll just say that the whole thing seems, well, like a set up.
Too much emphasis on VERY LOUD. Plus, it is 7 months old and you guys are still going on about what YOU want.
Even if the guy was asking a legitimate question, he was brow beat from the very first reply. I think that is just wrong. His question could have been answered in a respectful manner with a tactful emphasis on respect to others.

When you think about the lakes, rivers and large bodies of water, think about the person who needs help, with no one in sight. The faint cries for help cannot be heard above "LOUD" speakers. There are not many boaters of any experience, who have not had to help someone in trouble. I for one, have heard the faint cries of "Help" while fishing and searched for their source and in fact found the victims of a broken down boat, dashed against the rocks. They had been there for over eight hours. They were only thirsty and hungry, but who knows, if I hadn't heard their cries for help on the quiet waters of Lake Mead. Think about it!!!

No way am I gonna cooperate with such an evil objective. It is bad enough (no, too bad) that we have to put up with blasting racket in our neighborhoods and on the roads without some thoughtless persons (I ain't calling any names here) intruding on one of our last refuges of peace and the gentle sounds of nature alone.

Agree. while i have a stereo on my boat to listen to while anchored or idling through the no wake zone(which takes forever), it is almost never played over normal conversation volume. But if there is a wakeboat with tower speakers flying around, im not afraid to crank it, id rather listen to my music then their rap/metal.

Wow.. and yes, I know how old this thread is.. but wow. After reading it, I had to chime in. I came across this thread while looking for some boat speakers, and yes, I want them to be loud. Why? Because the lake I go to, we get a bunch of boats together and hit the sandbar, then party. We need at least one boat with a decently loud stereo so we can all chill, the girls can dance, and all have a good time. The area is KNOWN as a party spot, and NO ONE has ever complained about the music. Also, when we are cruising, I'd like the music to be a little louder so I can hear it over the merc and the sound of the water on the pontoons.

It's a shame you couldn't have just answered his question, and then followed it with a "But I sure hope you are being respectful to other boaters nearby". I've been a member of this site for a long time and mostly just lurk and read for information. I can't thank those of you enough who offer your expert advice.. but when you berate a guy for asking a simple question... well, it's pretty sad. To those who actually answered, thanks. To those who stood on a soap box and preached, well.. thanks for nothing.

You resurrected a 5 ear old thread to get on a soapbox about a subject nobody is even discussing. LOL
