The wife and I have decided that we are done having anymore kids. Being that it's only fare that since she had to carry them and deliver them. Not to mention she has been the one responsible for taking birth control for the past 10 years. I have decided to get snipped. I don't know of very many people that have had this done personally. Other than one guy on the day shift that I'm pretty sure did it himself with a butter knife on his lunch break. Anybody have any advice on what to expect afterwards. I work a compressed shift so I have 3 and 4 days off every week so I'll be able to lay around and do nothing for a couple days. I have done lots of reading on the matter and feel like I have a pretty good understanding of how the whole procedure works. I have to be honest, I'm really nervous about this whole thing. I made an appointment 2 years ago but canceled it because we both decided to wait a couple more years just to be sure. So any advice or tips on what to do or not do for that matter would be greatly appriciated.
The healing process took about a week in total, and had my stitches removed about 5 days after surgery (about like another visit to a dentist). The first 24 hours after the snippin, it felt as if someone had thumped me in der jewels. Moderate groin-groanin, but tolerable without the prescribed pain meds.
