Awesome thanks! I'm on the Edelbrock site right now and if you hadnt mentioned that I would probably have just ordered the springs without scrolling down the page enough.

Re: Need some edelbrock tuning help!

my apologies, I settled on pink springs and 7147 metering rods - and it runs good there... I can check the mains tomorrow, but I think they're either the original ones or one step richer.... I'll be taking the carb off tomorrow anyhow...

note that was dialed in a little bit fat (my preference) with non-restrictive gaffrig spark arrester, an torker 2 intake, world products sportsman heads, ca. 10:1 compression (192-195 psi compression test), a comp 270/284 cam and imco powerflow exhaust with non restrictive mufflers and 4" pipe out above the rub rail.

Boat interior is removed / stripped,, engine disconnected and ready to pull out in the morning, outdrive off and in the garage...

I second the kit with everything in it. I got one when I bought the 750 cfm carb used...

Re: Need some edelbrock tuning help!

Just thought I'd post up what I tried out last weekend.
355 Chevy
9.75:1 compression (170-175psi on test)-heavily ported 416 casting 305 heads-Performer RPM intake-Comp xm262h cam/lifter/springs-stock manifolds & 4" risers-thru hull exhaust no muffs.
Right now I'm running .113 mains-.110 sec, bottom hole accel pump, .068x.047 rods-pink springs.
It runs really good set like this. The only problem I have is there is a very slight hesitation when cruising around 3500rpm then gunning it. I'm going to try a step richer on the rods and one step either way on the springs to see how it responds. Overall its night and day over a qjet. Pretty razor sharp response. This would spin a 1.5 ratio drive to 52-5300rpm with a 14 1/2"x21p ss prop.

I used to have a Carter AFB on an old mustang. Tuning it the initial time is more time consuming than a holley, but once it is done, the carb will stay in tune

Ayuh,... I guess I'm alittle Late to this Party,....

The Edlebrock website has a Great owner's/ Shop Manual for those Carbs,....
That,+ the Strip Kit is all that's needed to make that Carb just Sing...
The Strip Kit includes enough Springs, Jets,+ Needles to make that carb work on about Any motor you could bolt it too..
