Needing Mercury XR4 Voltage Regulator

Looking for a voltage regulator to fit a 1989 XR4 150 HP Mercury. This one is water cooled. If any body has one they would sell please let me know. Thanks...

CDI Electronics might make an aftermarket one. It will be cheaper than OEM.

Found it!!!! It ohms as per the limited testing, heres what I will do...PM me your address and will ship it USPS to you, hook it up and if works send me what you think its worth, if it don't work throw it away....

With the huge number of folks replacing voltage regulators in these forums it seems the manufacturers haven't successfully designed theirs for longevity. Knowing how a typical regulator works, (shunt type), it would seem that one could build one with a typical voltage regulator and use some heavy duty MOSFETs to control the large amounts of current. And they could be an after market replacement that would work on basically any marine engine. Seems the auto manufacturers have successfully done so... :decision:
