I was told to place some 1 gallon milk jugs filled with water around the perimeter of your yard and that will supposedly keep cats away. I think bowls of antifreeze would also be a good idea.

Hey guys, I have taken care of my share of cats (putting to sleep),,,,but I have never ever and never plan to poison them. Anti-freeze to me is the lowest form of a way to take care of the problem. Besides, if the owner of the cat can backtrack the poisioning to you, count on big problems on your end. Ferril cats are fair game for shooting but illegal for poisioning.

I had a dog that was poisioned right on my back door step. It is not an experience anyone should go through.

Trap, shoot, BB's, pellets, or take take them to a shelter, no breathing animal has to suffer through its death.

If you don't know what to do with the dead animal,,,,,,do like my old neighbor,,,,,toss them in the road. People will think it just got hit by a truck or car. I plant them in an area in my back yard or take them into the woods for the coyotes and other wildlife to feed on. Another reason poision can be harmful to other wildlife that feeds on others.

I can't imagine having one of my grandkids seeing their cat come home wounded or poisioned. If your going to do it,,,,,,Do it quick and make sure its dead. Please don't let them suffer. A young child can accept that their pet ran off vs seeing it come home bloody and sick.

On a different note: there are 'cat repellent' products on the market.

Or, you could just get a dog and a fence. (Undergound fences work well and won't be seen) Dogs can be trained to stay off cars & out of gardens (you can also fence them off same as the yard).

Bull. It's my yard and I have a right to put a bowl of antifreeze out of I want to. If you don't want your cats drinking it, keep them the hell out of my yard.

I've personally killed cats in so many different ways. I've drowned them, I've shot them, when I was 10 I actually was practicing to be a pitcher in a little league team, and for a while I was good. One fastball right in the side and 2 days later the cat was dead on my driveway. In my truck, I TRY to hit cats. Dogs.....I'll try to avoid. The only time I try to avoid hitting a cat is on my bike, when I try to avoid hitting anything with legs.

Why, you ask? Because every vehicle me or my family has ever owned has cat scratches on the hoods and trunks from people not doing their job to keep their animals contained. I have a right to protect my property, and just like a squirrel chewing on my house, I have a right to shoot and kill a cat scratching my car.

Oh yea, all you animal rights activists, animals have NO rights. They are just that, animals.

The PO of my house left a cat behind when they left. The cat kept trying to come in my house and would always come in my workshop so I had to "take care of the problem". I have found cat #1 and #2 in my boat before. It seems that no matter how well you tarp your boat they will still get in it.

First off, I have no qualms about getting rid of a cat. I'll do it in a heart beat. But what you are saying (below) is not legally accurate. If you do this you will get charged with animal cruelty. No two ways about it. Call your PD.

I recommend trapping the cat and then just getting rid of it in the next county. I wouldn't say a word to my neighbor. I have a crazy lady down the street from me who has like forty cats. The ones that try to sleep on my boat cover disappear.

If you put some antifreeze in a container of some type it will love that sweet taste. And better yet, it goes somewhere else to die. Ive never done that but have seen a guy down the road do that when i was a kid. He also took some plywood and an old coat hanger and bent the coat hanger all around so that it barely touched in the middle and spliced electrical wire to eather end. Pluged it in the wall and put some food in the middle. If something went for the food it would get enough shock to kill it. I dont know if this ever worked i was just over there whyle my friends dad was rigging it up.

Im surprised that no one on this forum has posted the correct way to deal with the cat problem.. thier bite size for shark fishing,and you don't have to work the rod,it swims for you..

There are two types of people I HATE

1. People who hurt children

2. People who hurt animals cuz they get off on it

WITF you sound like the second one......freakin sick man and let me tell you this if I ever saw saw someone try and hit a cat with their truck for fun it would end up really bad for them that I can promise..... and if someone in my nieborhood was putting out anti freeze for the animals it would also end very bad.......... Ask SS Mayfloat how his Dog suffered........My Dog climbed our fence last week........Its a tall fence mind you but he really wanted to play with my kids on the side of our house I shutter to think of how I would have reacted to somebody hurting or killing him on purpose........I would hate to got to prison after doing my 100% best to stay out of trouble for almost 8 years now.

Let me qualify this.... I hunt..... I fish and I believe these animals (stray cats) are a nucence I can even stomach shooting them in the country but you get off on it, you WITF sound like someone who could easily become a serial killer. Pretty pathetic. Either your sick or very lazy and refuse to deal with it in a humane way.
