Re: Netbooks?

He isn't looking for a phone.
He is looking for something with a keyboard and a larger screen.

Your phone has neither.

Re: Netbooks?

I am now in the market for a small notebook. I too was interested in the netbook just because of the size and for me it would be used a primarily for web and email, but eventually I knew there would be something else I would want to do with it. From my research if you're even remotely thinking of doing anything more than web and email you should probably be looking at a small notebook.

I have a netbook. I love the form factor. However I cannot recommend my Acer Aspire One. Mine has been a total POS, my dad and uncle both also have the same model and have had nothing but problems.

Woot just had some refurbed Asus netbooks for 179.95. I was very tempted but I resisted. Unlike some, they came with full Win7 home addition, 1 gb ram and a 160 gb hard drive.

I was looking at Netbooks until I stumbled on the Sprint EVO...the screen is almost as big.:D

No kidding, it's handier cause it serves so many purposes besides being a phone. Great chartplotter and or car GPS with talking directions.

Internet anywhere there's a cell tower. Nifty free apps. Voice dialing and texting/searches. Two cameras (front and back) so you can video conference...

I'm not affiliated -- just love mine and have totally given up the thought of a netbook.

x2, mine is cool! I loaded navionics to back up my chartplotter/gps/ And on road, it blows away my GPS, wicked cool!

Now back to what netbooks to get and/or mac vs PC BS!

Re: Netbooks?

I bought a Hewlett Packard mini 110 last year when windows 7 just came out (September maybe?). I bought it to use while traveling, but now use it every day. The battery can last up to 5 hours. The print may be too small if the eyes are starting to go (as mine are), but i've figured out that if I push ctrl +, the size is magnified ( ctrl - it gets smaller). You should check one out if you're thinking of buying a netbook.

I love the new Ipad. Very cool device. Wish you could plug a USB port into it though. Way better than an Ipod touch. A previous poster said something about the Ipod Touch 3rd generation being new! Since when is something that has been out a year new?
