Similar experience here... when moving forward in the boat in the waves I get splashed with some seriously cold showers. When sitting aft at the same speed, same waves, there are no splashes.

Got Danard wheels. They look more solid, will try them out in a week.

Danard wheels are great. Propco props not so much. Tried 11, 13 and 15 props, all are worse than the original prop that came with the motor. The issue might be larger diameter. The native prop achieves highest speed of the four.

Can you describe how your boat is loaded and or post a picture fully loaded. Are you sure your boat is inflated properly?

not much load. Two people, some gas and just a little bit of stuff, including the wheels. Almost all of the load moved close to the motor. Also, the 15" prop kills the engine at the lowest throttle setting...

Although the thread is a bit old some tech issues boaters need to know :

If sib is having transom water splashes you have a underinflated sib, uncorrectly trimmed, a long shaft motor used on a short shaft sib or transom is a bit lower for that motor and water is banging against the tail instead of cutting water flow.

Standard engines are factory delivered with medium range props that works quite well for most user applications, do not play with prop pitches or diameters by sight, you need a tach to meter max rpm's for that given engine at wot and then decide if needing a better prop for your current application, if underproped will have piston stress, it's like starting a trip up a hill on third gear, if overproped propably will blow your engine at wot. All engines have a min/max rpm working range, don't mess with them

No matter how well you infalte an air mat will always rock, have tried 1.0 psi gauge inflation and still rocks, it's the nature of the beast, portability vs rigidity, can't have both at same time. Will need to live with it :D

Might also look at the trim setting of the motor. As delivered from the vendor, the first RIB I had would take on a lot of water over the transom if the motor was trimmed all the way down. Since I was often the only person in it, I trimmed it this way to get on the plane faster (just me towards the back). But I had to open the drain regularly to get the water out. When I first got the boat another boater saw me go by once, noticed the splashing at the back, and said something in the setup was wrong. After awhile I figured out the trim position to keep water from splashing when at speed. This resulted in more bow rise at slower speeds and taking longer to accelerate to planing speed. But it resulted in no water over the transom and was an acceptable compromise.

The best trim setting is the one that will have anticav plate paralell to sea level or your sib/rib bottom, usually 2-3 hole out from transom, depending on the brand used, Yamaha splashes less than Tohatsu, Mercury, Mariner, Nissan, this is because of the bottom tail design compared to.

If having 38 cm transom height, will definitely need to raise you transom 2 cm to have 40 cm height for sib/Tohatsu engine to perform as expected with 0 water splashes at transom area, best 90? trim setting, correct sib balance and perfect overall performance at wot.

Most boaters do not read their installation manuals properly, all specify minimum and maximum anticav plates heights with respect to boats bottoms, if you can be insidse those specified parameters the better.
