New Back to Back Seating

Replacement back to back seating like what's pictured above is easy to find. Problem they're all much taller than what my boat has. My boat's current back to back seats are about 44" long, 18" wide and 16" tall. That height doesn't count the riser height that is only 5". It's not a big boat, seats with a 10" high rise and 27" total height will be silly tall. But I can't find more compact seats anywhere. Any suggestions?

One thing I haven't tried is a custom upholstery shop. There is one nearby, and I do have to go there eventually to get new front seats made, but I'm assuming new primary seats will cost a lot less pre-made than custom made.

I made my own back to back,built the box to the height I wanted got some swivels and went to Bass Pro bought 4 Wise cushion seats and attached,the only thing I can't do is the recline thing it has seats with swivel and xtra storage.I did prime all the wood and when I re carpeted I put the carpet on the base

Got any pics? We never used the recline in the whole 25 years these seats have been around... and if i tried to recline them right now, they would probably completely disintegrate, that's how bad they are.

If you look at the video you will see bits and parts of them but not a good look, what I think I did was went to a site that had back to back for a small boats and use those dimensions I might have adjusted by a couple of inches,if I remember right 1 piece of 3/4 ply (maybe 1 and a half) 2 strips of hinge, primer and carpet attached swivels and seats had it done inside of a day

Those seats don't look too tough to duplicate. If you are happy with the shape and the foam under them is OK, then a local shop can build new covers pretty easily.

There is also a site I saw here that someone used that was supposed to be pretty reasonable. They can change colors for you, etc, but will use your old covers as reference to build new ones.

If you are talking about my seats, the answer is no... the wood is totally rotted, the foam is totally rotted, and the vynil is torn to ****. I honestly don't know what keeps it together when I sit on it. Every time you sit down, bits of rotted wood fall out.

You call them risers, I call them bases. Whatever they are called, why don't you make your own the height that you want. Who says you have to use what's on them. Get some carpet or vinyl and cover them.

Theirs are plastic, mine would be wood. I like plastic better. Plus honestly, I'd rather not rebuilt the entire boat from scratch. I'd like SOME thing to be basically plug and play-ish.
