I just bought a 1972 Silverline Comoro 16T with a mercury 800 80hp outboard of the same year. I picked up some oil last night to use and I just want to be sure so that I don't seize the motor. The oil is quicksilver synthetic blend but it's not even listed on the quicksilver site. I just want to make sure that this will be fine in the 1972 motor with a 50:1 mix ratio or should I return it and get something else? Is there any engine longevity benefit to mixing at 40:1? Here's a picture of the bottle. Many thanks in advance for any advice and I know this very same question has been discussed a thousand times but it's just that I haven't seen any information regarding this particular oil.
