Some dealers just sells boat, motors are not that experienced propping right a motor to run at least middle to max wot rpm range factory stated. It's more of a trial and error thing

My last 2 brand new outboard boats came from the factory set up optimally. Not only the prop selection, but the engines were raised on the transom for optimum AV plate positioning. If you look at those company web sites, they also had performance curves documenting their experimenting and confirming to the customer that they knew what they were doing.

Years ago there were no "package deals". The dealers sold boats and motors and the customer selected the "package". Then, the dealers DID know what's what. I agree, today many dealers don't know crap.

However, this is a Lowe we're talking about. Not exactly built by BubbaJoe in his east Poduck garage. If they didn't set up the boat right, then my opinion of Lowe just got trashed.

Of course my caveat is that if the owner is trying to put 8 men and a dog in a little fishing boat, then Lowe probably didn't figure on that. And finally, there is always Plan B. Mercury Marine's Prop Selector is an invaluable tool.

The brand new Lowe boat I bought was not setup or propped for max performance. And they admitted it when I called them. They did pay for having the engine mount height changed. But as for the prop, that was on me. After my experience with this, i started looking at new boats from different manufacturers and found all of the ones I looked at were not installed for max performance. As bought, max speed was 31mph. After raising engine and changing prop max speed was ~40mph.

Just read original post again there. I think you need to go out again and get some accurate numbers. Your engine definitely didn’t do 6500 rpm for certain. All the best.
The OP's initial data corresponds to 4-5 different props tested. A test with 1 up what has to do with the OP's post, up to now "has not stated how loaded was the combo when tested all those props" so the tech speculation will continue per secula, seculorum. For me load is all about to prop right any motor to run middle to max wot rpm range, don't know about you guys.

Can you explain why ? If
A 3 blade 11 pitch 3 topped out at 27 mph and 6200 rpm.
A 3 blade 10 pitch 3 topped out at 23 mph and 6500 rpm.
It's perfectly capable for the motor to run +300 wot revs and achieve 4 mph more with one less pitch difference assuming tach and GPS are right.

Saying that tach was off and rev limiter didn't kicked in or no way one less pitch will dial + 300 wot revs ?

Yeah. Easily. The limiter is set at 6150 rpm. Give or take a few 10’s.
