replacing the carpet on the boat and the decking is in really good condition with the exception of a couple spots the top layer is just starting to lift a lil bit hard to explain but they are like wider splinters floor is still strong and no flex in thease areas.first should i use glue? or no glue and stainless steel staple the edge and put down the metal angle?also was wondering if i should coat the wood with some thing? like a deck sealer? epoxy like west system kinda $$$$ or would a coating of fiberglass reisen help to protect it? the deck i think was replaced around 2003 at least that was spray painted under the boat. cost is the biggest factor right now.i feel the deck will last a few more years as is but would like to extend the life as much as possible. my thoughts are to keep the water from getting on and soaking into the wood. i am only able to put some cheap indoor outdoor carpet down for now $40.00 and my time is all thats invested oh and 20 bucks for railng spacers.
