Re: new cover leaks
OK, here's my take on this thread. You bought a 'waterproof' cover and it lets in water! It is therefore NOT doing what it supposed to do.
You contacted the Manufacturer (TaylorMade) who advised you to contact the Seller (IBoats) who wouldn't accept it as a Return. They then told you to contact the Manufacturer (TaylorMade). That is clearly the Seller avoiding their legal responsibility for supplying a faulty product. I would also suspect that as it is a NEW item there is a warranty coverage and that should tell you what you should do under that coverage. But the FIRST response IS and ALWAYS should be back to the SELLER (IBoats).
Now that this items sales is on the IBoats Forum you need to go back to them for either a refund or replacement. You need to be firm with them on this and explain that you are a member of the IBoats Forum also and this sale is now being discussed along with their customer service attitude. If you do not get satisfaction from the Customer Service Person, move up the food chain and demand to speak to a Supervisor. You should get satisfaction.
There was a recent thread (last week I think) about a member who bought some items from IBoats, didn't seem to be getting anywhere and resorted to starting a thread about the issue and how IBoats was or was not dealing with it. Their customer Service Specialist got back quick sticks and sorted it out.
No respectable company wants to sell faulty or not as described merchandise and then walk away. They go out business that way. IBoats and Taylor are NOT in that category IMHO.
Contact them back again Pronto.
Finally, do NOT start coating the cover with anything or doing anything to the cover that may be suggested in this thread. That will simply invalidate any warranty and negate any claim you may have on a refund/replacement. This is still a new item.
Good Luck.
