The story continues. After adjusting the valves in my motor and finally got the boat in great condition (1987 Marlin Rally 4.3l V6) we took the boat in the water and I felt the improvement on power. Idle was held on specs and we were just happy to be out in the water. All of the sudden, which I found out later a valve retainer broke and bye bye engine! LOL the great deal I got now it is just a deal.
I am in the process of buying a new engine. I don’t want to deal with a used engine any more. I want to turn the key and know that I will come back to launch with confidence.
I found this company in Texas, MABBCO who seem to be a legit business. They sell the 4.3l engine all ready set up for a swap in $1200.00 + 275 shipping. Warranty terms seem to be fair.
Any thoughts, opinions, stories, experience with this company and on this topic would be appreciated.
