Off the subject...but while working on the FB I thought I would show my playground. This is looking north into a lagoon full of seatrout, redfish, and snook.

This is looking south across the ICW. Note the Tiki Hut? That's where us boaters hang out at happy hour eating snacks and having beverages. BYOB.

Looking to the heart of the marina. She was full a couple weeks ago. Most of the snowbirds have left. Those condos are on the beach.

I am soooo jealous of your playground.

I wonder what would happen if I just loaded up the family and moved to jensen Beach. Beautiful there...

You stole those helm chairs! Let me know if you even come across another. I would love to ugrade mine. Great deal. I would have bought them for that price even if I didn't need them. PLEASE tell me that the upholsterer is going to match the couch to the new helm chairs...

Sasto, that boat just seems to get more and more beautiful with every picture you post... May have something to do with the fact that your posting pictures of the love you're putting into that georgeous vessel... Ya think?;)

That's quite a playground you've got there, sasto. Can't wait til June, can't wait till September... Man, I've got this year just about spent already!!!;)

Lookin' forward to enjoying happy hours with ya...:D

Calm seas and a cool breeze to ya my Friend.

If you moved here, Fireman, I would bet we would get no work done!

Definately stole the chairs. They were reupholstered Todd helm chairs with foot rests. Yes, the couch will match the chairs.

You know!. veritas honus. Having followed almost all of the restore threads and seeing the fruits of their labor and happy faces, I'm not the only one who loves being around boats and boaters. I feel some boats have spirits and personalities of their own, and when you figure out what they are, it becomes a bond.

Good Day, my friend

Sasto, it looks like in all your travels you've found a decent place to hang your hat:D

Sounds like some great fishing off your back porch there:)

Seems like you've got it all figured out, well done sir! ;)

Well, after seeing those pics, I am definitely going to start looking for a school down there to do my graduate studies at.

Thanks for making up my mind.;)

Wow Sasto, I'm definitely jealous.

I'm actually looking forward to checking out a new aspect of my summer job in a few weeks - I'll be introduced to a 28' CC Connie. :D I've seen her before, but never had the chance to run her. Shes owned by the scout camp I work at, and after watching you with your big girl i'm trying to figure out a way to become a 'boatkeeper'....:p

I couldn't agree more, sasto. The chaparral in my avatar and signature was given to me by my Father-in-Law. She's not just any boat. She's not just a boat for that matter... She's a beloved member of our family.

I think your right, Huron Angler. I've been on this island now for over 3 years. I think that's the longest I've ever stayed anywhere. I miss the traveling sometimes, but it's nice to be around friends and loved ones.

Thanks!

I've seen many come here to visit and never leave, tswiczko. You may be one of them. Good luck in your studies. If you need any help, send me a PM.

My first boat ride was in the Boy Scouts, scoutboater. Have yourself a good summer at camp and enjoy the Connie. Like they always say "It's not what you know, it's who you know". Reputation goes along way in this business and your scouting job will give you the opportunity to build a good foundation to become anything you wish.

Good Luck!

Re: New Job, 501 Constellation, Good and Bad.

The engines were painted a couple years ago and it appears no prep work was done. Paint is falling off of them. The transmissions are almost bare rusted metal. What really concerns me was the oil was changed a couple times since he painted them. REALLY? White paint overspray on the fuel filters!

It saddens me to see an owner allowing somebody to work on their boat, pay them well, and this is kind of stuff you find. Some of us have been tru things like this. So far we have chosen to take the high road, not going to ring anybodys neck....yet.

Wow...if you're going to under take the repainting of the engines, kudos to you my friend. That's a commitment. They truly need it. That's gonna be a lot of scraping and prep work.

Think what they'll look like afterward though...
